About Dr. Sydney.
The artist behind the smile.
Dr. Sydney Ebben-Carmody’s passion for cosmetic dentistry began when she discovered how dramatically a smile could be transformed without unnecessarily removing healthy tooth structure. After practicing general dentistry for several years, she attended her first advanced cosmetic course and quickly realized she had found the part of dentistry that felt less like work and more like a calling.
Since then, Dr. Sydney has pursued extensive continuing education in cosmetic and minimally invasive dentistry, including Veneer Mastery Levels 1 & 2, SmileTrend No-Prep Veneer Training, Essence Veneer Training, and ongoing education through the FMR Study Club. Her philosophy is centered around preserving natural tooth structure whenever possible, avoiding unnecessary aggressive preparations, and designing every smile specifically for the person wearing it.
Her favorite results are the ones that make people ask, “Wait…those are veneers?” Rather than creating a one-size-fits-all smile, Dr. Sydney considers facial features, personality, proportions, function, and each patient’s individual goals to create results that look naturally beautiful and uniquely theirs.
For her, cosmetic dentistry is about far more than changing teeth. It’s watching someone stop covering their mouth when they laugh. It’s seeing them smile fully in photos with their kids, walk into an important meeting with more confidence, or simply feel comfortable putting themselves out into the world without wanting to hide their smile.
A South Dakota native, Dr. Sydney grew up on her family’s multi-generational farm near Wilmot. She earned her B.S. in Human Biology with a minor in Chemistry from South Dakota State University before receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University.
Outside of dentistry, you’ll usually find her traveling, spending time with her Golden Retrievers Rip and Bentley, exploring new restaurants and cocktails with her husband, doing Pilates or yoga, hiking, shopping, or attempting to improve her golf game.
